The Gig

Reporting to the Director of Sales and Operations, you will play a vital role within the venue, providing the highest level of service and supporting the team to achieve outstanding performance. As our newest Full Time Conference and Events Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Create and execute an effective Conference & Events sales strategy and budget, ensuring priorities are clearly identified and actioned, through appropriate communication, delegation, and self-management
• Maintain relationships with existing Conference & Events clients and agents via a structured call cycle and drive revenue opportunities through need periods from existing networks
• Source and build new relationships with Leisure agents and clients through strategic networking and call cycles and increase revenue through Bar & promotional segments
• Manage and create lead generation strategies
• Conduct site inspection, family, and site reconciliation in line with Ovolo brand guidelines
• Source and design different package and package partners to stimulate demand and drive revenue through direct leisure channels

About you

You're a hard-working individual that's not scared to jump in and help where needed. Understanding the nuances of event planning, different event types (conferences, meetings, banquets, etc.), and the associated logistics.Proficiency in sales techniques, lead generation, client relationship management, and marketing strategies to drive event bookings. Familiarity with the capabilities and limitations of different venues, including their event spaces, catering options, and technical equipment. Ability to manage budgets, track expenses, and negotiate contracts to ensure events are profitable and within budget.

You have a valid RSA or willing to get one prior to starting. We require that you provide flexibility in your availability, willing to work various shifts including mornings, nights & weekends. You will have good communications skills and have the ability to remain calm and professional within a fast-paced environment.
