The powerhouse duo is embracing the world of plant-based fare, together heading up the culinary offering at new vegan and vegetarian bar and eatery, Lona Misa.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be a motivated person with a positive attitude who has an interest to progress your culinary career, develop your skills, and work within the varying styles of kitchen operations. You will be responsible for producing a wide range of quality products whilst exercising your knowledge of hygiene and food safety and maintaining our high guest service standards. You will bring with you your genuine and friendly personality which will complement our dynamic & professional Culinary Team.


What you’ll be doing

  • Prepare fresh ingredients for cooking according to recipes/menu
  • Cook food and prepare top-quality menu items in a timely manner
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly
  • Ensure the proper sanitation and cleanliness of surfaces and storage containers
  • To organise an assigned section and ensure it runs efficiently and productively.
  • Prepare and cook all food orders with a sense of urgency.
  • Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
  • Ensure that work area, equipment and section is kept clean at all times, in accordance with current health and hygiene regulations
  • Monitors food preparation and wastage costs, control these by following efficient preparation methods and standard recipes.
  • Lead employees by setting a positive example.

What we’re looking for

  • Lightning quick, master multi-tasker managing varying orders during busy breakfast service
  • You will work fantastically under pressure, cucumber cool!
  • You have the proven cooking ability to deliver perfect eggs every time, it's more than poached eggs!
  • Your energetic and positive attitude is contagious - even at 5am - smiles all round!
  • You ooze flair, passion and are a stickler for presentation- it's the little things that count!
  • 2 years of previous experience as brekkie chef in a busy hotel operation is essential
