The Role You will own the end-to-end delivery of Conference & Events (C&E) activity from initial enquiry and proposal through to flawless execution and post-event follow-up. You’ll be the key contact for clients, working closely with Operations to ensure every event is seamless, memorable and delivers exceptional client satisfaction. This is a role you can truly make your own. You’ll need proven experience in Conference & Events sales, a strong sales conversion record, and the ability to organise, facilitate and execute amazing events. You’ll join a clever, experienced team of Sales and F&B professionals who aren’t interested in standard, boring events. We’re Ovolo; a little bit naughty, definitely sexy, and a whole lot of fun. What You’ll Be Doing Sales & Enquiries - Manage conference and event enquiries from initial contact to confirmation
- Prepare and issue proposals and contracts
- Follow up contracts to drive strong conversion results
- Conduct site inspections for prospective clients
- Identify new sources of residential conferences and special events
Event Management - Coordinate events from enquiry through to delivery
- Prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
- Liaise with clients and internal teams via weekly meetings
- Manage logistics including run sheets, bump-in/bump-out times and supplier coordination
- Liaise with AV and external suppliers
- Upsell where appropriate to maximise revenue
- Personally meet and greet VIP conference clients and facilitators on arrival
- Support events on-site when required
Operations & Administration - Ensure all contractual requirements are met (deposits, invoicing, BEOs)
- Work closely with Operations to deliver impeccable service and guest experience
- Prepare monthly and annual reports to track KPIs and sales targets
- Represent the hotel at industry, trade and networking events
About You - Proven experience in Conference & Events sales
- A strong sales closer who thrives on growing conversion rates and be rewarded for performance
- Lives and breathes run sheets, creative solutions and problem solving
- Cool under pressure; flexible, adaptable and calm in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail, it truly is the little things matter
- Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
- Comfortable juggling multiple event spaces and configurations
- Proactive, hands-on and willing to roll your sleeves up
- Strong customer service skills and polished personal presentation
- Experience developing and managing a sales database
- Understanding of liquor licensing regulations
- Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook proficient
