The team are bringing the soulful vibe of Tel Aviv, a blend of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, with a distinctly modern twist to centuries-old flavours. About you We are looking for someone who has a passion for food and someone who wants to add value in an environment that will allow them to discover new and innovative products and ways of working within a global brand. You are a hands-on Pastry Sous Chef with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar cutting edge hospitality environment Reporting to the Head Chef, this is a challenging and busy role suited for an experienced Pastry chef. A role to make your own with the support of your fellow team, you will absolutely need previous hands-on experience in all menu design and recipes. You must have a wealth of experience but bring your mark on everything sweet. The Gig - Assist in menu planning, implementation and execution
- Controlling food preparation and managing wastage for your section
- Lead by example as a hands-on-chef with excellent quality assurance and standards
- Assist in the development through innovative and original menu planning and maintenance of high food standards
- Establish and maintain effective employee working relationships at all times
- Bring your on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area
- Good knowledge of WHS, food hygiene and efficient kitchen processes
- Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the Executive and Sous Chefs to ensure a successful working environment.
- Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.
- Creating pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.
- Developing new recipes for seasonal menus.
- Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure beautiful and tasteful presentation.
- Meeting with customers to discuss details and planning of custom-made desserts and pastries for special occasions, such as weddings.
- Monitoring the stock of baking ingredients
