Food and Beverage General Manager - ACT
Canberra

We are looking for someone who is able to manage their numbers, people, development, and certainly not afraid to be hands on, demonstrate from the front and is going to be a weapon in service.

 

The Gig

  • Imagine, spearhead, and take full ownership of critical components within our Food & Beverage operations and initiatives for this venue.
  • Demonstrate dedication to achieving exceptional results through commitment to the highest operational standards.
  • Collaborate closely with our hotel team, offering recommendations for the ongoing enhancement of Food & Beverage experiences.
  • Exercise oversight over day-to-day program implementation, providing guidance on matters related to budgets, staffing, and work quality.
  • Set expectations and hold the food and beverage leadership team accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors.
  • Review financial reports and statements to determine how Food and Beverage is performing against budget.
  • Work with food and beverage leadership team to determine areas of concern and develop strategies to improve the department’s financial performance.
  • Establish challenging, realistic and obtainable goals to guide operation and performance.
  • Stay attuned to the activities of competitors, industry trends, and external factors, pinpointing fresh opportunities and presenting performance enhancement suggestions.
  • Production and execution of successful events and activations for the venues
  • Reports into the Director of F&B AU

 

About you

 

  • Be a brand ambassador by providing communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example, and genuine in approach
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
  • Aims to achieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
  • Develops means to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit, exploring new business opportunities, etc.
  • Ability to work extended hours based on business needs.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including days, evening, weekends and holidays.
  • Must be experienced with computers; to include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet.
  • Strong financial and computer skills; has experience working with and an understanding of P&L’s and budgeting
  • Large Venue experience ideally part of a Restaurant group or even some hotel experience. 
  • Superb product and branding knowledge
  • Understands industry and vision and how to execute successful initiatives
  • Solid background in customer service and hospitality industry
