We’re now on the hunt for an energetic, commercially savvy and relationship-driven Events Sales Manager to help drive the success of our iconic Sydney waterfront destination at Ovolo Sydney, located in Woolloomooloo. The Role Reporting to the Director of Events, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing and growing new business across the Greater Sydney market, with a strong focus on MICE, Corporate Groups, Social Events, Weddings, Lifestyle Partnerships and Bar & Promotional Activations. You’ll be the first point of contact for event sales enquiries, while also supporting the leadership, strategy and performance of the Events division at Ovolo Sydney. This is a hands-on sales role for someone who loves the thrill of the chase, knows how to build long-term relationships, and understands how to turn opportunities into revenue. What You’ll Be Doing Sales & Business Development - Drive and secure new business opportunities across all event market segments
- Build strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, event planners and key partners
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans and lead generation initiatives
- Manage structured sales call cycles and networking activities
- Identify and convert need-period opportunities to maximise revenue
- Represent Ovolo at trade shows, networking events and industry activations
- Conduct engaging site inspections and familiarisations that showcase the Ovolo experience
Strategy & Commercial Performance - Assist in developing and executing the Events sales strategy
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities
- Contribute to forecasting, reporting and revenue meetings
- Support the development of event packages, partnerships and promotional campaigns
- Build and maintain strong sales pipelines and databases
Leadership & Collaboration - Act as a sales leader within the Events team
- Lead Banquet Event Meetings and communicate event logistics across departments
- Partner closely with Operations to ensure seamless event execution
- Foster a collaborative, energetic and solutions-focused team culture
About You You’re commercially driven, naturally charismatic, and know how to build genuine relationships that convert into business. You’ll also bring: - Minimum 4 years’ experience in hospitality sales, conference & events, or business development
- Strong understanding of the Sydney events and corporate market
- Proven ability to generate revenue and exceed targets
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, hands-on and entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in hotel lifestyle brands highly regarded
