The Role

You will own the end-to-end delivery of Conference & Events (C&E) activity  from initial enquiry and proposal through to flawless execution and post-event follow-up. You’ll be the key contact for clients, working closely with Operations to ensure every event is seamless, memorable and delivers exceptional client satisfaction.

 

This is a role you can truly make your own. You’ll need proven experience in Conference & Events sales, a strong sales conversion record, and the ability to organise, facilitate and execute amazing events.

 

You’ll join a clever, experienced team of Sales and F&B professionals who aren’t interested in standard, boring events.

What You’ll Be Doing

Sales & Enquiries

  • Manage conference and event enquiries from initial contact to confirmation
  • Prepare and issue proposals and contracts
  • Follow up contracts to drive strong conversion results
  • Conduct site inspections for prospective clients
  • Identify new sources of residential conferences and special events

 

Event Management

  • Coordinate events from enquiry through to delivery
  • Prepare and manage Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams via weekly meetings
  • Manage logistics including run sheets, bump-in/bump-out times and supplier coordination
  • Liaise with AV and external suppliers
  • Upsell where appropriate to maximise revenue
  • Personally meet and greet VIP conference clients and facilitators on arrival
  • Support events on-site when required

 

Operations & Administration

  • Ensure all contractual requirements are met (deposits, invoicing, BEOs)
  • Work closely with Operations to deliver impeccable service and guest experience
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports to track KPIs and sales targets
  • Represent the hotel at industry, trade and networking events

 

About You

  • Proven experience in Conference & Events sales
  • A strong sales closer who thrives on growing conversion rates and be rewarded for performance
  • Lives and breathes run sheets, creative solutions and problem solving
  • Cool under pressure; flexible, adaptable and calm in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, it truly is the little things matter
  • Confident communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
  • Comfortable juggling multiple event spaces and configurations
  • Proactive, hands-on and willing to roll your sleeves up
  • Strong customer service skills and polished personal presentation
  • Experience developing and managing a sales database
  • Understanding of liquor licensing regulations
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook proficient
