About the role

The Gig

• Supervise operations and assist with duties as required, ensuring the smooth running of butler service according to Ovolo standards and procedures.

This is a highly operational role for a chef who leads from the front. You'll be in the kitchen leading service, developing menus, mentoring chefs, refining dishes and setting the standard through action and not from behind a desk.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Events, you’ll play a pivotal role in securing and growing new business across the Greater Sydney market, with a strong focus on MICE, Corporate Groups, Social Events, Weddings, Lifestyle Partnerships and Bar & Promotional Activations.

You’ll be the first point of contact for event sales enquiries, while also supporting the leadership, strategy and performance of the Events division at Ovolo Sydney.

This is a hands-on sales role for someone who loves the thrill of the chase, knows how to build long-term relationships, and understands how to turn opportunities into revenue.

What You’ll Be Doing

Sales & Business Development

• Drive and secure new business opportunities across all event market segments
• Build strong relationships with corporate clients, agencies, event planners and key partners
• Develop and execute strategic sales plans and lead generation initiatives

• Identify and convert need-period opportunities to maximise revenue
• Represent Ovolo at trade shows, networking events and industry activations

As our Food and Beverage All Rounder you will be charged with providing our guests with the best night they’ve ever had. You know your Manhattan’s from your martini’s and that a rocking shift kicks off with just the right amount of prep. You love mixing it up for our guests, creating all their favs, and exciting them with something new too but it’s your banter that keeps them coming back and keeps the Crew smiling too.

Making beverage recommendations based on the needs and preferences of customers is a crucial factor for improving the member and guest drinking experience. This position is Casual.

About you...

You must be able to perfectly welcome guests with a friendly, professional vibe, take food & beverage orders accurately and confidently, deliver prompt, attentive table and bar service, handle guest feedback, and resolve minor issues on the spot. Happy to work on the floor or section as well.

• Describes all bar items; methods of preparation and prices as needed. Must have extensive knowledge of all bar/menu items
• Proper shaking, mixing, and stirring techniques using required Shakers Bar Spoon, Beakers, Jiggers, Hawthorne/Juniper Strainers
• Extensive knowledge of the surrounding area, events, and directions to guide and enhance a guests local experience

About You

You're an experienced Hotel GM, savvy, innovative, "entrepreneurial go-getter" with bags of energy, nurturing, positive mind-set and with a hunger to succeed within a dynamic and fast-paced environment! This is a hands-on role and you will be leading from the front. On the floor, inspiring your team, delighting your guests, walking the talk & representing everything that is Ovolo; Effervescent, Fabulous, Unconventional, Never Boring and most of all Shiny Happy. 

You will be experienced in the lifestyle Hotels market; strong in rooms is a given of course and ideally have F&B experience with proven abilities in increasing revenue streams & profitability across both rooms & F&B.

You also must have demonstrated attributes;

The Gig 

We are on the lookout for our next Wonder Maker, aka Guest Service Agent, to join our fun and exciting team. As our GSA, you will be the first point of contact for our guests when entering any of our hotels. You will be their first impression of the hotel and brand, and we want it to be a lasting impression! This is a Part-Time role and will require flexibility with availability. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Greeting guests as they enter the hotel
• Checking in & out guests 
• Modify and adjust guest bookings accordingly
• Promote the hotel and all it has to offer!
• Make suggestions to guests from your knowledge of the area
• Attending to guest enquiries in person or via phone, email, and website
• Supporting the Front Office management team in ensuring the smooth running of hotel operations
